About Midwest Ultrasound

Midwest Ultrasound, Inc. began in 1983 as a small mobile ultrasound company,and has grown to be the regional leader in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky providing diagnostic ultrasound services (cardiac, vascular, and general) in partnerships with hospitals and large physician practices. We have a comprehensive program that includes top-quality testing through state-of-the-art equipment, highly trained professional sonographers, lab accreditation, physician education, quality assurance, and a focused management approach of a facility's ultrasound department.

In July 2008 Midwest Ultrasound was purchased by The Christ Hospital, a nationally-recognized Top 50 hospital and regional leader in cardiovascular services. Midwest is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Christ Hospital, and remains dedicated to serving our clients with the highest quality service.

4. Financial performance - Our programs are focused on maximizing the market share and financial performance of our client facilities through growth of these services and other related services, created by value that we bring to the lab operations.
   

As a result of our expertise in the field and operation strategies, Midwest guarantees their client hospitals will see improved lab operations and associated revenue growth. The clients serviced by Midwest usually experience a significant increase in confidence by referring physicians that helps improve utilization of ultrasound services. In addition, other seemingly unrelated modalities such as CT, MRI, and surgery can benefit from having a high-quality ultrasound laboratory in the same facility. By keeping patients within a healthcare system, the system benefits in a multitude of ways.

Midwest is presently engaged in managing over 25 vascular, cardiac, and general ultrasound labs. We have about 100 employees, and approximately 70% of our staff are sonographers who perform nearly 70,000 procedures annually. Midwest Ultrasound is accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL) and by Intersocietal Commission for Accreditation for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL).
